3. Using the Explore screens

In addition to the search functions, Jisc users also have access to browse for Reporting Path, Measurement Job, Node, and Interface records organised by Admin Location. These views can be accessed via the Explore menu option.
This feature is useful if you want to see a full list of Reporting Paths or other assets in a particular regional area. In most circumstances it would be faster to use the Search functions however, and this should be your first port of call.

Admin Locations are arranged in a folder type tree structure that you can browse down through. There are three top level entry points from the Explore menu option, Regional Delivery Areas, External and Infrastructure.
3.1. Exploring Regional Delivery Areas
The screens for the Infrastructure and External branches behave in exactly the same way as for the Regional Delivery Areas so are not detailed here.
The Regional Delivery Areas present a breakdown of the Janet Network based on geographical region. This arrangement dates back to a time when Janet was comprised of independently managed regional networks, but we have found it useful to continue to organise the representation of the network in this way.
You can drill down (and up) the tree of folders using the menu on the left of each screen:

3.1.1. Using the record type filters
Once you have drilled down to a location level that has records assigned to it, you will be able to see lists of those records organised by type. You can use the type filters in the left hand menu to limit the list just to records of each type:

Select a record type to filter the view just to those records:

Select again to clear the filter:
